Bandages VS. Binders
Bandages:
- Don’t bind with bandages! Ever!
- Using bandages to bind is harmful and may cause: shortness of breath, bruising, broken ribs, fluid build-up in lungs, long term…
I’ve never done binding, and I really don’t have any intention of doing so, but for those who are, here’s so info on it. Be safe!
Edit: For some reason, it had not fully clicked in my head that “binding” refers not merely to trying to reduce breast size, but actually to completely eliminating breasts, so as to emulate a typical male chest. In other words, binding is apparently done mostly by female-to-male trans* people. Didn’t know that. Thanks for teaching me!
Oh! I just had another thought. Way back in high school, I was in a show where a female actor played a small role as young male (a page boy in Romeo and Juliet), and she used binding to flatten her chest. No lesson there. I’m just thinking out loud.

OH MY GOD. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW TRUE THIS IS. EVERY TIME in yoga class. It’s so embarrassing and frustrating, not to mention awkward and it literally does restrict your breathing!
Can we also discuss the perma-indents on the tops of my shoulders where the bra straps have carved their little nooks?

I HATE bra shopping. Not because I hate bras. But I just have a really hard time finding bras that fit well and are comfortable.
And I don’t really care if my bras are neutral colors or not. You need neutral bras. But yeah, it would be nice to see some fun-colored and cute bras that were at least in my size.
