I really must say that the one thing I absolutely HATE about what I’ve read and seen of Tolkien’s work, is his fat-shaming. Yes, there is racism (many enemies are dark-skinned and from the south, etc), but nothing I’d consider heinous enough to discount his entire body of work.
However, I HATE his fat-shaming. It’s the worst in The Hobbit. Bombur is constantly being laughed at and disrespected, and I hate it. And I hate that it was included in the movies. I know it was included because, duh, it’s in the books. But still. Watching the movies, I get pulled out of the magic, the story, whenever a fat joke is made, and I hate that.

Ok, so both my husband and I went to the midnight showing of The Hobbit. Therefore we got two sets of these gorgeous posters.

I know it’s mean, but…seriously? You advocate taking away freedom of choice in pregnancy, taking away our healthcare, making it illegal for people who love each other to get married.
That’s really NOT a good way to make friends.
