TOP 5 DONNA NOBLE SCENES #2 | asked by passrevoked
[See also: top 5 donna quotes | tag essays ]Anyway, gobsmacking 4.11 rushes today. No kidding, one of the finest pieces of acting I have ever seen - when Catherine realises that she’s going to die. She’s crying with horror. Absolutely perfect. I texted her to say thanks. She’s a very private person, I’m never 100 per cent sure what she thinks about things, but she texted back: ‘I’m so lucky to be doing all this. It’s wonderful to be part of it.’ That made me happy. Very happy. For many hours.
- Russell T Davies: The Writer’s TaleLet’s be real here. Everything about this episode is my favourite thing about this episode, so picking just one scene from Turn Left is a bit ridiculous. I do, however, adore what this scene in particular says about Donna. Because she’s so beautifully, heartbreakingly brave here - brimming with hope and the belief that things can only be better in a world that has the Doctor in it. Then she realises that she’s doomed: that she will have to die to bring this man she has never met back into the world. It’s an utterly terrifying thought for anybody: the destruction of oneself, the lack of a future, the loss of everything you’ve ever known. How many people would keep going at this point? But that’s why Donna Noble is the most important woman in all of creation: because, in a world without her skinny spaceman, the magnificent, brilliant Donna Noble doesn’t stop trying. She doesn’t stop caring, or fighting. No - she dies so that this horrible, broken world can blink out of existence… she sacrifices herself to set the universe right again.

#it looks like it physically hurts him to say it too #he’s just spitting it out like it’s sour on his tongue #because it is #it’s his life and living and he has to tell john of all people
#REMEMBER HOW THE ONLY THING THAT EVER MATTERED TO SHERLOCK WAS BEING RIGHT #AND HAVING PEOPLE KNOW HE WAS BRILLIANT EVEN IF THEY DIDN’T APPRECIATE IT #HE’S FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING THAT MATTERS MORE #AND HE HAD TO SACRIFICE ONE OR THE OTHER
well fuck, right in the feelsand the fact that Sherlock was willing to sacrifice that for John shows how much he loved him

The Doctor speaks Feels.
Though, anyone can understand le Feels if they listen from the heart.

Reblogging again because it’s still relevant.
#Honestly out of all the NewWho Doctors #I think Nine does ~comfort the best #which is hilarious because he’s so harsh #but he’s also the one that’s fresh from the Time War and understands how raw circumstances can be #So he’s the one who’s so willing to say ”look at me I’m stupid” #or ”streetcorner 2 in the morning getting a taxi home - I’ve never had a life like that” #it’s more effective because because unlike Ten and Eleven #Nine does self-deprecating comfort that translates so much better (and he does it so much more often too) #Because instead of just saying ”aww it’s okay you’re not stupid” #he says ”it’s okay i’m stupid too - being stupid sometimes isn’t bad. everyone is stupid sometimes. #but making stupid decisions also means you have the potential to make clever decisions. I believe that you can do this. You can fix it.” #and that to be honest is the most brilliant feeling in the world: #knowing that despite your ~shortcomings someone still believes in you and is willing to fight for you #Nine you are so wonderful and not enough people recognize that (via: winterinthetardis)

OK, normally I don’t put anything here because less people reblog and such, and feel free to delete this, but every time I watch this part I think the same thing so allow to expound upon it, please.
Look at this guy. Tony “Mr. just-not-the-hero-type” Stark. NOPE. Tony, you lying son of a bitch. This freak with the arc reactor powered whips, he just used them to fucking cut through cars. Cars. Tony Stark is not a car. He doesn’t even have his armor at this point in time. He’s just a man, and a dying man at that. He is not healthy, and so not up to par. And yet. He doesn’t run, he doesn’t hide. He doesn’t even try to go get the armor. That guy is hurting people and so Tony tries to stop him. With a car door. And he is unsuccessful. But he tries.
And sorry Captain Rogers, but every time I watch The Avengers, the part where Steve tells Tony to stop pretending to be a hero? Back the fuck up. He’s not pretending. He is a hero. You clearly haven’t seen all the footage, Steve-o, because this right here? Yeah. You know there are cameras. Even without everything that happened, it’s still a grand prix, and Tony Fucking Stark is driving in it. There are cameras. People see this. It’s on tape, Tony taking on this psychopath who just cut through cars and blew them up without his armor. Because you know what? The Iron Man armor doesn’t make Tony a hero. Iron Man is just a bunch of metal. The real hero is guy inside the armor, putting his life on the line to save other people. And even at his absolute most vulnerable, dying, without his suit, he’s still willing to step up and be a hero. Iron Man isn’t the superhero, Tony Stark is.
