When one’s in love with an ageless god who insists on the face of a twelve-year-old, one does one’s best to hide the damage.

That line always bothered me, like a lot.

When has the Doctor ever insisted on the face of a twelve-year-old? When has he ever said that? Like, i get that he doesn’t age, and she doesn’t want her age to show, but he’s never INSISTED on her being 12 years old, or ageless, or anything! :-/

Also, since when can the Doctor just use regeneration energy at will??

#every acting award ever #i know a lot of people criticise ten for being whiny and difficult and bratty in this scene #i feel that those who do have pretty much completely missed the entire arc of ten’s character development #of all the new!who doctors he is the most painfully perfectly HUMAN incarnation #nine is the battle-weary scarred alien destroyer of civilisations. #eleven is a dorky alien dude with a penchant for hats and a dark streak the size of an oncoming storm. #not that ten doesn’t have his alien or oncoming storm aspects. he does. but predominantly he is HUMAN. #he was born from sacrificing himself as nine to save rose. he was born BECAUSE of her.#throughout his entire story arc ten delights in humanity. so many times he WANTS to be human. to take that slow path with rose. #at one point he even IS human in the family of blood storyline. #and he is TERRIFIED - as we all would be - of disappearing. of course as a timelord he doesn’t die. #but HE - as ten. as the man who loved rose and martha and donna. - HE won’t exist anymore #of course he rails against it like any human would. he wants to cling on to life. the life he knows. his identity. his humanity. #and this is his reward? oh baby. #so he rants and raves and is sadly startlingly painfully human. and then that last gif. #he pulls himself back. he KNOWS he’s being whiny. he knows that in the bigger scheme of things he still lives.#so he gets on with it. he was born for rose and now he dies for wilf. #he dies for wilf and he dies for DONNA. he’s giving her her granddad back. #and this is why i love ten. always and forever.(via virginiachance)

The First Doctor: The least important things, sometimes, my dear boy, lead to the greatest discoveries.
The Second Doctor: Well now I know you're mad, I just wanted to make sure.
The Third Doctor: Courage isn't just a matter of not being frightened, you know. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway.
The Fourth Doctor: You're a classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain.
The Fifth Doctor: An apple a day keeps the... Ah, never mind.
The Sixth Doctor: Planets come and go. Stars perish. Matter disperses, coalesces, forms into other patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be eternal.
The Seventh Doctor: Yes, that's right, you're going. You've been gone for ages. You're already gone. You're still here. You've just arrived. I haven't even met you yet. It all depends on who you are and how you look at it. Strange business, time.
The Eighth Doctor: I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren't there.
The Ninth Doctor: The thing is, Adam, time travel is like visiting Paris. You can't just read the guidebook, you've got to throw yourself in! Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, get charged double and end up kissing complete strangers!
The Tenth Doctor: People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect... but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff.
The Eleventh Doctor: The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
